Local Projects

According to state law, all revenue collected in any region would stay in that region. Most of the money will fund a list of regional projects created by local elected officials. The remainder will be divided among all the local governments in that region to be spent on any transportation projects they choose.

This page serves as a portal to the website of each jurisdiction, where you will find the most up to date information regarding local projects and opportunities for public input. If the jurisdiction has no information regarding the Transportation Investment Act (transportation referendum), there will be no link.

Every county in the Atlanta region currently has at least one special sales tax to fund education, facilities, transportation or other needs. Here is a look at the sales tax rates in each county. (PDF)

The Atlanta Regional Commission is not maintaining local project lists. If you know of an official city or county website with information about local projects or opportunities for public input, email a link to gwalker@atlantaregional.com.
